Excursions from Costa Adeje, Las Américas and Los Cristianos

Most visitors to Tenerife stay in the south: Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. From here almost every sea activity and the big parks are minutes away, and tours to other parts of the island pick you up near your hotel.

At sea, minutes away

Puerto Colón, in Costa Adeje, is where most whale and dolphin boats, boat parties and water sports leave from. From there, or from Troya, Torviscas and Fañabé beaches, you can try the banana boat, parasailing and jet skis, which need no licence.

Los Cristianos has kayak and snorkel tours under the cliffs, dive centres and paddle boarding. Surf lessons are in Playa de las Américas, with waves almost all year.

Parks and plans with kids

Siam Park and Aqualand are in Costa Adeje, and Jungle Park a few minutes from Los Cristianos, all three with a free bus from the tourist areas in the south. Also in the south, Camel Park is 10 minutes from Los Cristianos, and the submarine leaves from Marina Amarilla.

Adventure on land

Quad and buggy tours climb from the south on volcanic tracks and through pine forests to Mount Teide, and buggies also cruise the Golden Mile in Costa Adeje at night. There are electric dirt bike rides between Guargacho and El Barranco beach, go-karting for all ages and paragliding flights that land by the sea.

Tours to the rest of the island

From the south, with pick-up near your hotel, you can join tours to Teide by day and by night, the Grand Tour with Masca and Garachico, jeep safaris and the day trip to La Gomera, 50 minutes by ferry from Los Cristianos.

Frequently asked questions

What to do in Costa Adeje?

Take a boat from Puerto Colón to see whales and dolphins, spend a day at Siam Park or Aqualand, try jet skis or parasailing and, at night, a dinner show or a buggy ride along the Golden Mile.

Do tours pick up from hotels?

Many do: the Teide tours, the Grand Tour, jeep safaris and La Gomera pick you up at the meeting point closest to your hotel. Sea activities start at the harbour or beach, very close to the hotels.

Do I need a licence for a jet ski?

No. The rides are guided and everything is explained before you set off; you just need to be over 16.
