Kayak and snorkel in Tenerife: paddle beneath the cliffs of Los Cristianos or Los Gigantes, look for dolphins and turtles and snorkel in calm water.

A guided kayak tour along the south coast of Tenerife, one of the best places in Europe to see wild dolphins and turtles. You are very likely to see them, as they live on this coast all year, and the guides approach respectfully without chasing them.

Choose your trip: kayak and snorkel in Los Cristianos, paddling under the cliffs to the Lovers’ Cave; kayak and snorkel with turtles, 2 hours; kayak to the Guaza nature reserve, 3 hours, or kayak at Los Gigantes, where a boat drops you at the foot of the cliffs to paddle towards Masca. If you only want to snorkel, there are trips from the shore or by boat too.

No experience needed: the kayaks are stable doubles and you are taught to paddle before setting off. Includes kayak, paddle, life jacket, guide and snorkel gear. Usually from age 6 or 7, with an adult in the same kayak; you must be able to swim.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience?

No. The kayaks are doubles and very stable, and they teach you to paddle before setting off. The route goes at the group’s pace.

Will we see dolphins and turtles?

Very likely, because they live on this coast all year, but they are wild animals and it cannot be guaranteed. The guides approach respectfully and never chase them.

What is the minimum age?

Usually from 6 or 7, always with an adult in the same kayak, and on most routes children pay less. They must be able to swim.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel, sun cream, a cap and a reusable water bottle. The rest of the gear is included.

What if the sea is rough?

Nobody goes out in unsafe conditions. We move it to another day or give you your money back.
