Scuba Diving

Scuba diving in Tenerife: try dives with an instructor, guided dives for certified divers, Open Water course or underwater scooter snorkelling.

Go scuba diving in Tenerife: the water is 19 to 24 °C all year and the volcanic seabed drops quickly, so a few minutes from the shore there are arches, wrecks, rays, turtles and shoals of fish. We work with dive centres in Los Cristianos and Radazul.

If you have never dived, the try dive is with an instructor by your side the whole time, from the beach or a boat; PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a little more complete. If you are certified, choose single guided dives or a dive pack. If you want to get certified, the Open Water course qualifies you to dive to 18 metres. And if you would rather not carry a tank, underwater scooter snorkelling whizzes you along near the surface.

Includes full equipment (wetsuit, mask, fins, tank and weights), a qualified instructor or guide and a safety briefing. Bring your certification card for guided dives. No diving in the 24 hours before a flight.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be certified?

Not for the try dive or snorkelling with sea scooters: everything is explained beforehand and you are always with an instructor. For guided dives you do, and you need to bring your card.

What is the difference between the try dive and Discover Scuba Diving?

The try dive is a short, simple first dive with the instructor. PADI’s Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is somewhat more complete, with more practice, and lets you go on to the Open Water course afterwards.

What is the minimum age?

It depends on the centre and the activity. Tell us the ages when you send the request and we will confirm which option fits.

Are there any medical restrictions?

Yes, the usual ones: no diving with serious heart or lung problems, with a bad cold or in the 24 hours before a flight. Tell us anything relevant and the centre will check it before the day.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel and your certification card if you have one. The wetsuit, mask, fins, tank and weights are included.
