Things to do in Tenerife with kids
Tenerife is one of the best islands for a family holiday: the weather is good all year, distances are short and there is something for every age. Here are the plans that work best with children, with the minimum age for each one so you can choose without surprises.
Water parks and zoos
In the south you have Siam Park and Aqualand, in Costa Adeje, with slides for all ages, children’s areas and a free bus from hotels in the south. Aqualand also has a dolphin show. Close to Los Cristianos, Jungle Park is a zoo set among ravines with birds of prey, sea lions and penguins.
In the north, in Puerto de la Cruz, Loro Parque is one of the most awarded zoos in the world, with orcas, dolphins, gorillas and a penguin house with real snow. Under-3s go free at all of them.

Pilot whales and dolphins live off the south coast all year round, so a boat trip is almost always a hit. With kids, the shared boats work really well, like the Peter Pan pirate ship or the Ragnarok Viking boat, as does the glass-bottom boat, where you see the seabed through windows in the hull.
The submarine from Marina Amarilla dives to about 30 metres and takes children from age 2: everyone gets their own porthole. For something calmer, the pedal boat with a slide is picked up right on the beach and takes up to 4 people.
